Wicked as She Wants (Blud, #2)Wicked as She Wants by Delilah S. Dawson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Steam Punk fantasy where have you been all my life????

Absolute first in this genre for me and I am starving for more!

Life is pretty amazing when you are at the top of the food chain or is it world?..hmmm? Lets say both!

At least it was for Blud princess Ahnastasia, she was both for a while until she was awakened from a 4 year slumber by the harpsichord playing Casper Sterling. Nothing screams princess like 4 years in a suitcase shipped all over creation wearing the same dress... yes very classy. Casper has also taken a rather hefty spill on the social ladder. Then there is Keen the third in our traveling party, Casper's child companion. They all embark on a wayward journey to to Ahna's homeland. With rather loftily intentions of kicking some sorceress' ass, making all right in Ahna's world.

This trifecta is utterly amazing! They are so well crafted on the page you just absorb them in. Delihan Dawson where have you been all my life?!!! This fantasy/steampunk world of Pinkies and Bluds is so rich and thoroughly construed you are swept away. I could rave on and on about the well crafted description of the towns, zeppelins and pretty much everything our trio does on this adventure. This book has something for everyone: hot romance, pirates and time travel... such a rush finishing one chapter and being consumed by the next. Every page was more riveting than the last.

Be sure to put aside sometime to read all the way through... it's that good!

Broken Faith (Spiritual Discord, #1)Broken Faith by Brandy Nacole
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I thought the basis for the book was captivating. The whole good vs evil with a twist was so creative. Brandy Nacole's idea of Fallen Angel's and Hell Hounds was a new concept for me to read. I deeply enjoyed the character's feeding off one another making the story richer. The bond Emma's friends have even with the difficult moments made the book. Kayson and Sabrina's story was enjoyable but I found that Emma's just had more depth and love in it.
That was the only thing holding up the 4th star for me. I wanted to feel Kayson's love for Sabrina evolve. The yearning undying need to be together just wasn't there for me. This being said I have no holds on reading Brandy Nacole's next book.

Ice Country (The Country Saga, #2)Ice Country by David Estes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Being a avid reader of this series I can honestly say thank goodness he is writing quickly. Davis Estes has don't it again. Every time I buy one of his books I think this one this is my favorite!.. but no then he goes and writes another and I am in love all over again!

Ice Country is yet another story of amazing people and the struggle/ journey that changes them forever. Dazz taking day by day living like any teenage male does girls, gambling and just being plain old rowdy...Then life takes an unsuspecting turn as it always does leaving everything you know questionable. So down on his.. I would say luck but you soon realize he has none...lol With the prospect of work to help him out of what he thought was the biggest tragedy. Only to be submerged in the most important struggle laid out before himself. It's cool though along the way he finds loyal friends in the most uncommon places.

The story has so many great attributes where do you start??? David Estes is a verbal illustrator he not only created a world of his own but each tale is so remarkable unique. From the language and slang to where they all take place.. No two books are alike. But yet they are.. You are following trials that would normally hold people down..and then you get to read about how they as characters/people unfurl into a stronger more loving whole being. All of his work gives hope and shows compassion. That even with obvious differences we have the same basic human needs.

Dragon (Histories of Purga, #1)Dragon by Rustin Petrae
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rustin Petrae creates a tangible world unlike any I have ever read about.
Where you are either a "Rook" technologically advanced person. One who has grown up using tiny nano robots to recreate an extension of your ideas. If you are one of the few you can create anything you put your mind to. But most have vast blueprints at a fingers touch.

OR~

Your life has been one close to the earth, living off what is naturally grown. Terraquois the totally counter part of the Rooks in almost every way. Upon living hand and hand with nature, this way of life definitely has its perks.. like say changing in to an animal, or being able to communicate with plants..

Kinda like a Romeo and Juliette in a fantasy setting! The Rook prince is saved by a Terraquois girl. They slowly learn that besides the obvious differences they do have allot of similarities. Which just happen to be the way they start to feel about each other.

Every story needs a bad guy and the one who shows his ugly face in this tale is nefarious to the core. I found this book to be a jem in YA fiction I received it for an honest review. First time reading this author but his work is a fast favorite.

The story line is beautifully written and I found myself consuming line by line. I truly felt moved by various parts of the book. When I say tangible I mean the description is so lush your mind can not help but visualize the world Rustin Petrae has created!!

Lover Be Mine (Legendary Lovers, #2)Lover Be Mine by Nicole Jordan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Keeping a promise never has been more promising for Lord Jack Wilde. Of the infamously Wilde family, know for their out spoken ways. Dressing up for a quick glimpse of Lady Sophie Fortin. Who just may be the "one " for him, as told by his eccentric and loving match making cousin. Sophie, who is complete off limits if her family will have any say in it.
Tell someone they can't have something and they act accordingly...lol
This is a first in the Legendary Lovers series for me and I was blown away by the quick wit and hot scandalous chemistry between out star crossed lovers. As depicted in the book description, the tale runs along side an epic love story of Romeo and Juliet. I loved the book in it's entirety, Nicole Jordan is truly a fantastic writer. The story was smoothly told and had romance in abundance!!! Add a crazy imposing family with a touch of long lost royal father and a side of kidnapping...lol What more can you ask for in a Historical Romance?!

Thin line between Good and Great

Couple things that make a book stand alone for me would be:

Originality: taking an old idea to new heights with your own spin, or coming out of no where with an amazing tale all of your own.

Description:being able to paint a picture with words without 4 pages of reading the same thing. This really kills it for me. The story is just moving along then the author gets overly descriptive where I can jump a couple pages and I am still reading the same scenario.

Makes you think: I have read several books that just make you think. The Hunger Games was a big one for me. I mean really!! Actions speak louder than words.
Loved the way Katniss stirred action from others with just doing the right thing..
SavagerySavagery by Emma MacKenzie
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In 10th century France, 18-year old Cherine Cadet only knows one thing: that the life of a peasant isn’t a life at all. Tired of working in utter poverty for an unfeeling Lord, with only her indifferent family and love-struck best friend as company, Cherine dreams of the day she can run away from the future set-up for her, even if she knows there’s no real escape from her destiny.
Then, in one brutal instance, everything changes. A Viking fleet led by the powerful nobleman and warrior, Rolf the Walker and his right-hand man, Erik the Axe, arrive on the shores of the Lord’s estate. In minutes, the entire land is up in flames, Cherine’s family and fellow serfs are killed, and Cherine comes dangerously close to death herself. She is saved only by the fierce Erik – but a new lease on life comes with a cost.

The descriptive above from the author totally drew me in, as well as the cover!!! I just love Vikings, almost as much as Highlanders... LOL

Be careful what you wish for! Cherine wanted more in life. I don't think being a bone fought over by to Dominate Vikings is exactly what she had in mind. Looking back was not an option for her. Village, family, comfort zone all GONE. The only person trying to make life worth living for is Erik. Say hello to tall and quite killing machine Erik. Who treats her with nothing but kindness. Only hang up is he is grooming her so to speak for another. Just when Cherine gets use to Erik in comes Rolf. Rolf ruthless, sexy and kinda freaking crazy. The type who has no use for the word "NO".

I really like this book, 3 stars due to the fact I am a greedy girl.. I wanted the story to be longer.
If you are looking to get lost in a Historical Viking love triangle this is the book for you! First time reading the author but I am very much looking forward to more much more of her work..

Read on Readers!!

Enslaved (Enslaved Trilogy, #1)Enslaved by Shoshanna Evers
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

BDSM club genre geared books I usually love... I felt Enslaved kinda fell short for me. I have read NUMEROUS others and with them I felt a connection. No such luck with this one. The story line had the capability to work yet the characters didn't enthrall me.

I found the lifestyle to be hard to be believable and forced into working out.

Elizabeth was the type of woman I couldn't relate to. Didn't want to be her, kinda got on my nerves. In some books you bond with the telling of the story. You imagine what if? You find a role and put yourself there. Enslaved didn't take me any where.

The mingling with the background love story of Elizabeth's old dom. got old for me as well. I mean I love to read about a good spanking, but the fact he was into guys and yet still slept with her...really?

I received this of an honest review.

The Pleasure ProjectThe Pleasure Project by Jax
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I happen to really enjoy books that depict the human race being tampered with on a genetic level. I found the Morphates a fascinating new specimen to read about. Being the first book I have read by JAX, I was totally engrossed. I found the writing to be a maelstrom of creativity. The book was well thought out and complete, I had a sure grasp on the settings of the world depicted. Morphates being genetically enhanced humans due to a cellular break through by Dr. Jenesis DeBruehl. She should have been pleased as punch, that is until she realized her work was part of a mass experiment on humans. So smart but yet lacking in the common knowledge of where her ideas were being applied.

Now speed things along after some trials and tribulations in life, I mean she was left holding the bag. (Due to the Frankenstein esk man she was working for Dr. Eric Paulson, he bailed that sinking ship.)

In comes Sex, Alpha Kincaid “Kin” Gregory...yummy!! (Let me just say if the government is working on this, having hot sexy men who are in tune to you on a caveman like wave length not so bad...)
Kin is a Morphate on a mission! Who better to puppeteer Jenesis to help the Morphate population under his watchful eye than him? Using her guilt and knowledge to elevate himself to gain the upper hand.

The sexual tension between these two is palpable. So steamy and erotic. I for one am looking into more from this author, Strong alpha males with a mating tendency come to mama!

As a bonus there are two fascinating stories after. But this one was my fav!!

Seduction was also an enjoyable read.Fantasy set in the future, who would have thought age would be an issue then too? I loved the aged difference and the fact that even thought it was a huge difference. What really mattered was they gave each other what they each really needed!! Hot sexy time and characters you'll love.

A Pirate's pleasure I could have done without. I really didn't care for the last short story. The other two had so much charisma to make up for the length. But The pirate story was kinda drab.

Edge of Dawn (Midnight Breed, #11)Edge of Dawn by Lara Adrian
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

20 years after the last book is where the story takes place. (Which I love)

Vampires shedding new light on the world..or under the spot light if you will...lol Humans and Breeds are on the verge of coexisting with the help of new a council. But in what world do we all get along? Rebels breaking new laws and protesting, and the Order under tight supervision.

Mira captain of an Order's patrol unit recently demoted due to her idea of vigilantly justice. Nothing, even revenge can fill the void inside her. 8 years going through the motions of living, keeping it together is getting harder and harder.

Her new assignment of babysitting Jeremy Ackmeyer is more of a punishment. But action isn't very far away. Thrown in a compromising situation. Where escape leads you back to your life, a life that had lost all meaning. Is Bowman the leader of the rebels more than meets the eye? Be careful on what you wish for! The double edge of life isn't all that forth coming. When Mira gets her hearts desire what can she stand to lose to keep it?

My thoughts on the book:

The books being based in the future of the Breeds was tastefully done.
I think setting up a timeline help show that Vampires are timeless and it helps additional characters mature. Mira was a child in Veil of Midnight...without the time warp when would we read her story? I loved how you could see the setting in the making for the upcoming books. You have a bunch of new young breeds just waiting to get on pen and paper. Humans are now in the know.. aware they are not the only planet dwellers. Especially when you get to the end of the book. WOW what a huge shocker. New threats to human and Breeds alike, new technology that can change the up coming battle. Lara Adrian expands the world she created tastefully and most thorough.

Blood Ties: The First (A Bane Pack Novel, #1)Blood Ties: The First by Rustin Petrae
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Kendra was in desperate need to take a dominate role in her life. What better way to ward off a mental breakdown after a terrible day at work than to get a tattoo? I always knew tattoo's were life changing in one aspect but, Kendra didn't see this one coming by a long shot.

Magic, Werewolf's, and Knight's Oh my!!

My thought's on the book:

This is not the first Rustin Petrae book for me.
I tried to really get into the book! The writing seemed to be all there. Meaning the story was well rounded. The book lacked an emotional response from me. I was reading and reading but I couldn't connect with any of the characters. I also felt like Kendra had no attachment to anyone either. She cried and a couple times I was like this is it.. but it all came up short for me. I felt the book had the making of a great read, very creative. Like I said it had no emotional charge behind it.

Fire Country (The Country Saga, #1)Fire Country by David Estes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Siena who is quickly coming of age to be a Bearer/ Breeder. At 16 no less. You are just following her thoughts on growing up what is expected of her in life and what she never realized she always wanted. Finding out who she really is. The story line is quite captivating! Your heart breaks for her on so many levels. But out of the ashes she becomes a stronger sure footed young woman. The growth she under goes is great to bare witness too.

I am absolutely wooloo over this latest book by David Estes!!
He just pours on the creativity and his vast imagination grabs a hold of you! This series is a sister series to the Dweller Saga. Pretty much the people who were left above ground.

The world he created has no equal. The people the lingo and slang all of it so thorough. He has an ability to make his characters ones you can't stop reading about. I find my self hanging on his every word. Waiting to see what trials are headed there way.

The Pleasures of WinterThe Pleasures of Winter by Evie Hunter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fleeing for her safety Abbie has one shot to leave Honduras. It so happens to be on the personal jet of Jack's. Jack is extremely private and enjoys the comfort of his lone entourage. But when they are stranded together things heat up in the jungle and it has nothing to do with the humidity.

Abbie comes from old money and wants to pave her own way in the world. Reporting on real world situations really gets her juices flowing, that is until she stranded with Hollywood Heart throb Jack Winters.

I have read my share (and probably other's) of D/S books. They really appeal to me you could say. This story is how chance circumstance brings two people together and there true selves emerge throughout the telling.

Abbie finds away to break free of the binding’s life and family have restrained her with. Jack is oh so happy to help her find release. But in doing so he never imagined he would find his own.

The Moon Dwellers (The Dwellers, #1)The Moon Dwellers by David Estes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fate friend or Foe??
One side of the coin:
The cruel hand of fate separated Adele from the rest of her family. Torn apart and imprisoned in some fashion or another. A family accused of treason against the government. Seventeen is an age of change and growth for our heroine. Doing time and becoming numb are no longer an option for her. Especially when confronted with the bizarre reaction she has upon coming into contact with the hierarchy's son.

Distance from everyone seemed to work while riding out her eighteenth birthday. So Adele thought until a chance encounter shows her having support from another is not so bad. One friend quickly turns into two. With her new friends willing to help her risk it all to gather her scattered family. She goes out to meet her fate.

The other:
Tristan loathing the life of luxury his forefathers carefully mapped out. Born the son of a President shouldn't be such a burden to bare. As life unfolds he realizes living on the sacrifice's of the lower ranking classes is not all it's cracked up to be. Heading out to take life by the hands is next on his agenda. Going to pursue a girl who bewitched him only with a stare. That and it was backed up by an electrical sensation that was to painful to forget.

I really loved this post apocalyptic tale. The way it jumped between the two rebels. The story just flows spinning from both of their points of views. It was great like both sides where written toward each other. Each chapter tied me into the chaos that Adele was drowning in and then the aftermath Tristan would dive into. I feel the writing was perfectly paced. The way it all unfurls Tristan and Adele both rushing out with so much to achieve. Constantly crossing paths. I was swept away from the moment I picked it up this morning. It was a gripping tale of these two at complete odds with life. Both with contrasting childhoods coming from two different classes of people. The writing and descriptive back rounds for the characters was tactfully done. So much life was poured into them. They stirred so many different emotions from me.

I found the writing from both Tristan's and Adele's POV a key player. It made the book dynamic. Hard to put down.!!

After reading The Lady Most Willing I thought to myself how have I not consumed all of Julia Quinn's book's??

Which lead me to How to Marry a Marquis. Upon reading the description I was totally intrigued! I found the book to be beautifully descriptive and well written. Julia Quinn's is an amazing writer. This is a fantastic Historical Romance.

Elizabeth and James romance blooms with such perfection. The book has so many fine qualities I don't think I could do it justice in this review. Once I started reading I could not put it down. This book is a must read!

The Fetish Box, Part One: Open All Night (The Fetish Box, #1)The Fetish Box, Part One: Open All Night by Nicole Camden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Mary at 22 years of age is an untouched Virgin. Who is tossed into a life style that just screams sex. Not just your vanilla kind either. Her recent ownership forces her to confront her sexual side, a side she has never really explored. She has strong desire for both of her new business partners. Max who is a one night stand ,noncommittal kinda guy. But the sex he offers definitely stirs her need. Then there is John, who is sexy in the secretive silent sorta way. Domineering if you will.... And oh yes she will.

I really enjoyed the book, I feel sexual exploration in ones self is key to knowing who you are. The story was really quick to cut to the chase. Mary is a great character they all are. I feel the book started and then abruptly stopped. In comes part 2. I really think it could have had a smoother transition into the next book. The book was a good read I don't understand why there are 2. They could have easily been 1 book .

The Fetish Box, Part Two: What Escapes (The Fetish Box, #2)The Fetish Box, Part Two: What Escapes by Nicole Camden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Mary's new sex toy shop offers more than the average. She also finds herself to be an event planner. Planning sex party's that is. John just so happens to want Mary. Both to help her succeed and in way that sorta confuses him as well. He offers her knowledge in the sexual way that is, "help her understand her new life/ job".
But it can't all be fun can it? With some menacing threat tearing up her shop and beating up her employee's, what is a girl to do? Did I mention she still has a party coming up. Themed for fun and the host has a scorned lover out for revenge. It all seems to be pilling up.

With Mary's virginal status over. Her desire is blooming.. Soon after her a John hook up she is thinking of ways to give Max a go.. With a darn good idea who is trashing her store and suing her what will she do? Max is trying to be respectful of John. John is smitten with Mary and the beautiful music they make.

I really liked this second installment from Nicole Camden. Again the story is well written and a fun sexy read.
A couple hangs up would be how short both books are. Plus the fact that this book just ends.. Stops.. Really frustrating. With a 3rd book that I haven't had the pleasure of reading. I feel both leave you floundering.

I did like the book, just the simple fact it kinda leads up to another brick wall which makes you think, huh?
That's it, really!

The Fetish Box, Part Three: What Remains (The Fetish Box, #3)The Fetish Box, Part Three: What Remains by Nicole Camden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Closure finally! LOL

Ever notice everything looks more crisp and beautiful after a rain storm?

Well the after effects of Mary's life turning upside down from the Box and her home being trashed are just as renewing. Mary has bloomed with the resolve to fight for the one's she has come of love and embrace. Having her home broken into has shook free the emotions John was holding so tightly too. Mary, Max and John have a respectful understand in what matters most to each other with clear intentions.

Mary has chosen to play the Dominate role when it comes to her friends and family, no longer a victim. Her party is yet another storm to brace for and wait through. The Box is slowly coming back to it's former glory along with Mary's own understanding of who she is and wants to be. Her new home is transforming into a collaboration of herself and her mother, a woman whom she is coming to really love.

My thoughts:

The story comes full circle in the third installment of the Fetish Box was a delight to read. Beginning with the arrival of the virginal Georgian girl that transitions into a woman taking hold of her own sensuality.
I loved how Mary found love and self acceptance in this new life she was sprung into. (view spoiler)[ The part where Mary realized that she was really apart of her mother's life, was heart warming. All the gifts that were left behind to show her how loved and cherished she was..sniffles. (hide spoiler)]

The sexy time depicted in the book was well written and hot. I feel the exploration of sexuality is a personal journey for everyone. Meaning I didn't find it trashy...lol Nicole Camden is really coming into her own. I enjoy her writing and look forward more of her writing!

Uniquely Unwelcome (The Shadow World, #1)Uniquely Unwelcome by Brandy Nacole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Uniquely Unwelcome was pretty freaking awesome..lol

Crazy spin on the paranormal YA Fiction.
Even Vampires, Snifters, Witches, and Were's and can be prejudicial. Not only against each other but anyone who happens to be a Heinz 57 as well.

Racquel just happens to be the best of all the above. Her family tree is a total mix she has the best of each Vampire, Shiftier, Were & Witch genetically speaking. Funny how unique aspects can set you apart and make life difficult. Fitting in was never her strong suit. I mean how can you when your parents & grandparents pretty much set the bar on what not to do when you fall in love..Which would be falling for someone who isn't in your Shadow social class. Shadows' a term defining all the paranormal kind..

All Roads eventually lead home?
Upon trying to find anomaly like herself Racquel finds herself right back where she started. Home. Abruptly upon her return, she is accused of stowing away all the Shadows that are missing. This is the way she realizes her sister Addie is amongst the taken. Addie being the only family she has left. In a cold loveless world Racquel will stop at nothing to hunt down her beloved sister.

Best of all the Shadow world starts to open up to Racquel. Realizing she just so happens to be the best instrument for the job. Slowly a group of Shadows form to help save the missing Shadows. Ethan a werewolf, Danika is a witch, Jared a full vampire and Coy a human. It seems loss will bring them to the one common goal of finding the impending evil.
But will they be able to come face to face with what lies are ahead??

The really loved this first installment of The Shadow World series. I find it a welcome change of pace. Brandy Nacole found a different way to to express the paranormal kindred in fiction. I thoroughly enjoyed her main characters. Their background and how they uniquely fit together in this tale. Supporting each other and coming to realize that even though they are all different together they are much stronger.

Blood Burdens (The Shadow World, #2)Blood Burdens by Brandy Nacole
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Second book in the Shadow World series.. I did enjoy the book, But the first just had more to it?..

Well the book started just where the first drops off. Which I loved. hmmmm... I can't put my finger on what was different. I feel the first one kinda drew me in where with the second I just needed to know what was going to happen.

Our Shadow gang is trying to bring down the menacing evil. aka Cerelia the Crazy Witch with way too much power. Who loves the idea of Racquel so much she is trying to make an army just like her.. using whom ever she can get her hands on. [ Cerelia the Crazy Witch with way too much power. Who loves the idea of Racquel so much she is trying to make an army just like her.. using whom ever she can get her hands on. (hide spoiler)]
This book was also about Racquel trying to find her Harmony with in herself. Excepting each part of her being. Growing as the unique Shadow she is. She is a little more angry in this book which is understandable. Her and her main vein Coy are having some issues like ..lets say her dreaming of his brother. Not to mention Coy is having a serious adverse effects from the feeding sessions.

What I truly enjoyed is after our band of Shadows from the first book spend so much time together. They find that the conformity of the Shadow Society rules are becoming hard to live with in. I have a good feeling about the third book

All and all quite enjoyable. I received this for an honest review.

Demon At My Door (Demon At My Door, #1)Demon At My Door by Michelle A. Valentine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I found the book to be a great read.

Doing a good deed never came with so many hangups! I mean not only outcasted by the kids at school, but the very person she gave up her soul for. Being a kid ins't easy but being sweet talked out of your soul kinda stinks too. Natalie upon thinking in the heat of the moment gives her very soul to save her mother. The repercussions are almost to much for this kid to handle. Especially years later when the collection day draws near!

Her internal emotions are so bound together. First by her 21st Birthday (doomsday) drawing near and second with the relationship her and Stew (long time crush & Hottie next door) wants to keep under wraps. I mean if a man loves you why the secrets? Let me tell you Stew has more secrets than the love trysts he shares with Natalie.

All that changes with the new guy on campus. Rick strolls into town just in time to help out with the massive chaos of emotions Natalie already has going on.. About to give her soul over. Still a virgin.Pissed her family really doesn't get her. I mean really she can only take so much. Natalie gets caught up in the caring and acceptance Rick offers and she so craves. But Rick has some dark secrets of his own.

They say timing is everything!

I really thought this book was great,I read it in 1 day. Nonstop awesomeness! I loved the characters. They all played there part so well. Another great point on the book it wasn't predictable. Which made it all the more enjoyable. Some many moments I never saw coming!
