Burning Desire: Part 2 by Donna Grant
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Shara will do just about anything to get away from her family. Especially when her father announced he will soon choose a husband for her. All that she is goes against tradition and she yearns for independence. Blackwood is such a feared name amongst the Dark Fae, no one dare go against her Family. With thoughts of severing family ties only two powerful Fae come to mind, Taraeth and Balladyn. Only they would be strong enough to boldly stand against her family.
Careful what you wish for…. Shara’s plan to use Balladyn as a means to an end totally backfired. Sure he promises power, fortune, and freedom but at a much higher cost than she is willing to give. Only after her dealings with the devil does she begin to realize how precious her moment in the sun with Kiril was.
Thoughts of Balladyn capturing her once lover is a weight she can no longer carry. With every bridge burned where to go? Who can she trust? Only one place rings true..Kiril.
The juicy turn of events in Part 2 left me flabbergasted! Shara is equivalent to a caged animal trying everything and anything to attain its freedom. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Shara’s reckless plan has just stirred a shit storm of trouble for her. Her totally abusive and maniacal brother threw her ass under the bus with Balladyn. If the rage and malice his face held upon the news of her “seduction” held any promise, it wasn’t a happily ever after he had in mind!
The plot is so dense in Part 2, the what if’s are killing me. You have the exiled Dragon King, with no inkling of his intentions. Frustrating! Then Shara’s crazy family and now the pissed off Balladyn. Seriously not the guy you want to promise forever then ditch. I have no pretense for what is too come and I find that extremely invigorating! Onward to Part 3~
I received this ARC for an honest review~
